Do you actually need a thermal printer?
Start with the friction in your current setup. If printing, cutting and taping labels interrupts packing every day, a dedicated label printer may simplify the process. At very low volume, your existing printer may be enough.
203 vs 300 DPI
DPI describes print resolution. A higher number can help with fine text, but readable barcodes also depend on the source file, label stock and settings. Confirm the carrier’s label requirements and test a real shipping label before committing.
Bluetooth vs Wi-Fi vs USB
USB suits a fixed packing desk. Wi-Fi can support a shared network workflow. Bluetooth often depends on a companion app. The connection type alone does not guarantee support for your phone, computer or shipping service.
Will it work with Shopify and Etsy?
Check the whole workflow: export a 4×6 label, open it on your actual device, select the printer and print at the correct size without scaling. Platform suitability depends on the exact model, driver, app and operating system.
